My friend Mike playing his dual-chamber cajon. Mike could hardly contain himself once we attached the legs to his drum, so before I even got a chance the oil finish it for him, he wanted to play it. I don't blame him... it sounds amazing! This drum is made of poplar and is tuned to a fourth.
My friend Shawn playing my everyday cajon. This video was shot at a friend's bachelor party and was the first time Shawn had ever played a cajon. He's pretty amazing... This drum is made of oak. (Sorry about the camera shake. Special announcer voice provided by the groom, Mark.) Shawn is in a band out of Austin named The Reddies.
My friend Mike is playing Blue2. Blue2 is based on the very first cajon I ever made, a big drum that I painted blue. I ended up giving that drum to a church, and Mike played it on Sunday mornings. The original Blue had to be destroyed, and Blue2 is taking it's place. It's an 18" cube, made of birch plywood and has an amazingly low resonant tone. In this video, the drum hasn't even been sanded, let alone finished.
My friend Mike playing his Angry Cajonga. The Angry Cajonga is the first cagonja I ever made. It's made of poplar with an amazing grain pattern. Imagine if he had three of them, properly tuned... In this video, the drum is still unfinished.
